HS Age tourneys this weekend?

Well, PP, I don't have to do a recap now, Thanks! Now I can continue to pack for my trip, lol.

I'll just add a few things: Clay Co is flat out good! Two very good outside shooters and one player who just drove to the hole every time it seemed, we could not seem to stop him! They shot the lights out in the semi final game today, and no offense to the Bulldogs but Clay Co deserved they title from what I seen of them this weekend!

The NKY Colonels are a scrappy bunch, #3 is a very good outside shooter, we were concerned every time he touched the ball.

The Bulldogs, a tall athletic team, wish we would have been able to play them, seem like a nice bunch of players. Too bad they are busy in July, would love to pick some of them up for July :)

For Team KY, I won't mention everyone of please forgive me :) But being short handed all weekend, the first game Vs Clay Co with only 5 players, then coming back an hour later and playing D-1 (with 2 more players in that game), played very hard and solid with very little time on the bench, if any! You can tell that Will Skaggs (Blazer) is a soccer player, he never stops, loves to keep moving and drives very well. Chris Johnson (Blazer) plays very hard inside and plays a lot bigger than 6'2". Team KY seemed to miss Zach Perkins from Ryle after the first game Vs Clay Co, where he went down hard and injured his shooting wrist. Solid core, once we get out bigs it should be interesting. Jaylen Daniels and Jeff Whitton from Clark Co did well, as did newcomer Fangman, who is a really nice shooter.

A very good tourney this weekend! Good teams with good players who all seemed to be very nice and respectable young men who just go out and play hard every play! That's the most you can ask out of them! It was a very enjoyable weekend!

Now Team KY is off during the month of June, coming back for the Blue Chip Camp, as a team, to get ready for July. Then on to the Adidas Takes 5 tourney in Cincy for the opening of the NCAA D-1 Live period, then onto LA for three weeks for the Adidas Three Stripes, Adidas Campbell Hall Shootout, El Camino HS Tourney, our annual game Vs nationally ranked Mater Dei HS, and the huge Adidas Best of Summer.

Why was Fangman playing with Team KY? Was he not a Bulldog?

I agree. Clay County is tough. The Buldlogs were able to stop the pentration. They held #14 to 6 points I believe. It was the 7 or 8 threes that did them in. (One from half court) That is a great mix of talent and size. They will do well in high school next season. It was a good weekend at Sportsville.

Fangman was playing for the Bulldogs, but is now with Team KY.

It was my pleasure SportsGuy, lol. I just wanted to add my thoughts of the weekend.

One team I did forget to mention was the D-1 Greyhounds. I only saw one of their games against Team Kentucky. Team Kentucky won that game by 10 or 11 and they did appear to be short handed. The Greyhounds were a very athletic team and had some nice post players that could step outside the paint, but their guards seemed to be overmatched at times. They are a good team, who from what I have heard, have won a tournament or two at Sportsville this year. This just wasnt their weekend. It was brought to my attention that many of these players are out of W. Virginia and are considered some of the better players they have. Kudos to them and they should keep working and playing hard.

For Team Kentucky, I did see Zach Perkins with a wrist brace on, is he okay? How long will the young man be out? Good luck to him.

Where did some of the other local teams play this weekend and how did they do?

Shining Stars

DS Allstars

WKY Elite

BA Hoyas

KY Players

Royal Family (I hear they are back strong)

Indy Elite

And any others...

The Hoyas and Royal Family were at Hoops for the Stimulous tournament.

Ind. Elite was off this weekend. They played in the Bob Gibbons TOC in NC last weekend and won the 16u division. Zollo made the all tourney team.

Shining Star Sports 15u and 16u teams were in Fishers Indianapolis for the Fieldhouse Invitational. Both teams lost their final four games.

The 16u team only had 6 players for the weekend. Played well but ran out of gas.

I have heard many kids are missing out right now to study for school exams. It is good that the kids get time to study. Good grades are essential and importnat. Maybe this is why SS missed some players.

The S. Stars are still fully intact as they were in Lexington for the state tournament correct? Just curious because they went about 10 deep there, I think.

The Shining Star team is still together. Graduation, injury, vacation and QB camp at UK. They are done with their schedule until the Adidas Take 5 in Cincinnati.

This is a really big AAU tourney I hear. I look forward to attending this one and seeing some great talent.

I am guessing the QB camp at UK was for Pawsett. I hear he is one of the better QB's in the state. The fact that he is a 2 sport athlete, and very good in both of them, says something about the kid.

Does anyone know who has the injury for the S. Stars? Nothing to serious I would hope.

I have heard the same thing. I heard this tournament is for some of the best. Isnt it by invitation?

Zeke Pike was at the Kentucky QB camp.

Nick Gray injured his leg and will be out for a while.
