GRC's Chase Kindred will be the top seed in boys singles when the tournament gets under way Saturday at Georgetown College.

Landon Sallee, the Cardinals’ No. 2 singles player, also will compete in the event and is not seeded.

In doubles, Taylor Graham and Chad Griffith are seeded fourth and the duo of Jacob Walson and Austin Norton also will compete in the event without a seeding.

Kelsey Palmer will be a No. 3 seed in girls singles and Ginny Rush is a No. 7 seed. Tayler Kindred and Makenzie Waltermire are seeded No. 6 in doubles and Alyshia Powell and Chandler Thomas also will compete in the event.

Good luck to all of the tennis team this weekend.:thumb:

The boys' region looks to be a 3 team race with Clark, Highlands, and Montgomery Co. -- will come down to who can pull off an upset or 2.

On the girls side Highlands is clearly the team to beat -- they are solid top to bottom and have the #1 & #2 seed in singles.

Montgomery Co. boys lost last match to Highlands and ended up with 2 seed which is where they were last year and pulled it off as eighth graders, hopefully a repeat this year.:dancingpa

Chase Kendrick got beat out by Austin Colliver tonight in a well fought match, and Montgomery County boys doubles got beat out by Bourbon County. The seniors from Bourbon was just to much for the freshman from Montgomery, the Manning kid had a knee injury and hurt them alot. There alot of different scenorios that can play out tommorow with Montgomery still may the regional as a team. Great tennis today by all schools.

Congrats to Austin Colliver of Montgomery Co. as well! Winning the region is a super accomplishment!

By the way, how in the world did Highlands get in the same region as GRC and Montgomery Co.!?!? That makes no sense, but then again.....it's the KHSAA!

Someone wanted to keep Highlands and Cov Cath apart.

Austin carried the team a regional title (they also won team titles in 93, 04, 08, and 09). Look for Forrest and Ben to bounce back next year and for the team to be a force as 5 of the top 6 return.

I agree, last year Forrest knee got hurt before state tournament, and then Ben's knee got hurt during Highlands match last week. Those kids have alot of talent and compliments each other games well. They should be a force in the next several years. Not making excuses for the lost to Bourbon in region though.
