The Bengals are building a solid young defense and taking Smith was the first step in fixing the O-line and the run game. They have a franchise QB and a solid #1 WR. Hopefully, the WR's they picked last year will be ready to contribute and can grow into productive players at the least.

 

This team isn't that far away. They have a lot of good pieces in place.

 

The problem, as always, seems to be the management. They'll find a way to screw it up at some point. But, a good front office could have Cincy in the thick of the AFC North race no later than 2010. The roster isn't that bad.

 

There aren't that many NFL teams that are more than a year or two away with the right management.

2.) Why would Hall be suspended? Its his first offense right? Its only on the second offense for substance abuse that he would get suspended for 4 games I believe.

 

Not 100% sure, just what I was told from a buddy who I thought would know. He said it came down to whatever happened regarding the possession of marijuana & DUI.

 

Does the combination of both warrant a suspension?
