North Laurel 8 South Laurel 4

8th grader Megan Baldwin got the start for North Laurel for the 2nd straight night and got the win. South scored 3 on her early but only 1 the remainder of the game. Emily Gaines pitched pretty well but Fisher struggled, hitting 3 batters in the 6th inning. When Megan Taylor took the circle for North towards the end, South really struggled to hit her.

Weaver apparently didn't start his ace, Megan Taylor for 2 reasons, ... (1) she pitched the equivalant of 6 full games in 2 days at the 5 Star Prep Classic over the weekend and needed more rest AND (2) To not allow South to face her until the regional tourney. Both teams did the same thing last year with Sears and Gaines resting when they played each other in the regular season.

They've done it the past 15 years, actually.

No shock there. The funny part is that some seem surprised or even offended that it happens. It is just smart softball.

I didn't get to attend the game, ... did you get to go and if you did, what did you think?

BTW, found any pics for me yet? (just ribbing you a little bit)

Did North lose every game in their Tournament?

Yep. 0-4 in the 5 star prep classic and lost every game by 1 run.
