When Lloyd plays NCC and Dixie and some tougher competition, does their hot start continue in do an upstart season? Like to hear from some people that have seen them play as I have not yet. Also, did anybody think Lloyd at the beginning of the year was a threat? Are they now?

I believe Lloyd looked very sharp in the game I saw them play on Sunday against a solid Bellevue club. However, looking at their schedule, that looks to be their only big win, and also could consider Walton. The others against St. Henry (2-8), Holmes (3-2), Calvary (unsure), Cooper (0-5), Villa (unsure), and Heritage (unsure). Not taking anything away from Lloyd, because as I said, they looked very sharp, active at the plate and solid in the field. However I can't really say much about them until I see how they look against NCC in the All A.

I thought they looked like a solid team and think they will indeed have a good year, but to be fair, they haven't played much strong competition at all this year outside of Bellevue. I believe they are a top ten team, but will need to prove they can play with the likes of NCC, Dixie, Conner, Ryle on a consistent basis.

I will agree with the other assessments as well. However, in watching them warm up on Sunday against Bellevue, I was impressed. A winning baseball team requires many parts to be successful.... team chemistry, coaching, confidence, etc. as well as athleticism. I thought I saw those intangibles in Lloyd. It remains early in the season, so time will tell. As for now... my hat's off to them as a solid team that deserves respect for what they've done.

I will only say these young men have played together for quite a few years and I knew they would be competitive this year and again next year. They have some very good talent that won the City Tournament a few years back in Cincy. I agree they have not been tested yet however, I feel they will give everyone a tough time. JD
