Thoughts about the game?

Better than the 28-0 score in the JV game.

JV score was actually 26-0. But either way it was decided in the 3rd.

 

In the varsity game Dixie came out and played like they were nervous in the top of the first allowing 4 runs of which only 1 was earned and I'm not sure that was actually an ER. In the bottom of the first Dixie tied the game and then kept adding on in the following innings. It was good to see the Dixie bats come alive as there were many big hits. Klei had a triple off the fence in left center, Dettmer had a triple into the right center gap, and many others had solid hits resulting in doubles or producing runs. From a pitching standpoint Koors started and went 3 innings allowing only the 4 runs in the first. He pitched himself into trouble a few times but found a way out. He's going to have to avoid that for Dixie to make some postseason noise. Following Koors on the bump was Chamberlain who pitched 2 scoreless innings to close out the game. He was electric on the mound and had great stuff. If Koors pitches to his potential, him and Chamberlain will make a great front end to the Dixie rotation with many others challenging for their spots. All in all it was a solid showing by the Colonels to open the season.

not sure but he's one of the good guys! Coach McIntyre is a solid individual:thumb:

Hey WV or Dixie fans why not post your roster so we fans know who your players are. It makes it so much more fun to watch a game, when you know who the players are, and the kids on the team I am sure would get a kick out of seeing their names in print... It's only takes a second to do it!

I'm trying to imply that at least the field looked nice. If you're a WV fan, a 16-4 ballgame wouldn't be any fun to watch so at least the field looked nice.:thumb:

Got ya. I wasn't sure with the rolling eyes. Thanks for the compliment though as we have put a lot of hard work into the field. :thumb:
