statmanhensley Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 For those that knew what I was doing for the last few games of the tournament, I did the official stats for the games and had the points and fouls for each player in the game up on the scoreboard. I also updated BGP with PDFs of every game (4 updates in all). Well I just wanted to let everyone know that I am only going to keep those stat links available until Friday morning. I have been put in charge of maintaining a website for the 2009 NCAA Division II Midwest Region women's basketball tournament and I am hosting it on my student server....I am going to need that extra space by Friday afternoon. So with that being said, if you want the stats from now until Friday morning, you can go to http://studenthome.nku.edu/~hensleyc1 and you will be able to find the stats for each of the two finals games. Anything that you may need after Friday will need to be sent to me in a PM and include your name and email address. I hope this isn't too much to ask as I am being put in charge of something that is being viewed from all over the Midwest Region and even the country. I am even thinking about putting a hits counter on it to see how many people I get from now until after the tournament. Thanks to everyone for thanking me for doing this stuff....while the money will be nice as I am kinda broke right now, I was first and foremost doing it for the players and you the fans. Without you, athletics equals nothing.
TAC Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 Statman, great job! that is really professional information. No wonder your are moving on to the college level next week!:notworthy:
big royal daddy Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 You did a wonderful job as far I could tell and I have a technical question for you, does the daktronics boards at the bottom of the scoreboard are they video capable like showing replays and such or are they meerly for advertising purposes only, just wondered?

statmanhensley Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 They have replay capabilities. They do have replay capabilities but as far as I know, all of the camera crew that has worked the games were NKU students who take a video class and with NKU being on spring break this week and last week being the week of midterms, I would have been very difficult to get a good crew out there for it.
statmanhensley Posted March 11, 2009 Author Posted March 11, 2009 Also wanted to note that if there is a discrepancy between the stats that each team's statisticians have and what I have I apologize. During the 9th Region title game I didn't have a spotter and that makes it really tough especially for someone who is new to doing computer stats. My main focus was to try to get the players who were in the game up on the side scoreboard panels so that their points and fouls could be displayed....anything past that was a huge bonus. LOL.

It would have been nice to show player introductions, replays, and halftime ceremonies. Not complaining or anything like that, just saying. Maybe next time?
statmanhensley Posted March 12, 2009 Author Posted March 12, 2009 I will see what I can do for the 2010 tournament. Hope everyone enjoyed their tmie here. Update: The stats will in fact be taken off the server later on tonight so if you want any of the final game stats, please download them before 10 p.m. tonight. You can also PM me your name and email address and I will email you the PDFs beginning tomorrow afternoon between sessions. I just need the potential server space since I am in charge of the official website of the 2009 NCAA DII Midwest Region women's Basketball Tournament and since I am doing it on my student server through NKU, space is very limited. The games that I have stats for are: All of the 10th Region games with the exception of the Scott/Deming game. The 9th Region semifinals and finals. Once again if you want any of the official stats from the tournament, please let me know.
