Ashland 73 Rowan County 65 (OT)

This was one of the best fourth quarter comebacks I have seen in a long time. The tomcats shot the lights out in the third quarter to build a big lead and this game looked to be all but over. But the Vikings looked like a team fighting for thier lives to come back and tie the game and send it to overtime. The Vikings simply just ran out of gas in OT and the Tomcats prevailed. In a couple years Coach Thacker will have the Vikings in the hunt for a regional title and at the top of the 16th Region.

It was obvious that Coach Biggs was comfortable with the lead and instead of having his team concentrate on winning, he just had them concentrate on "not losing". In other words they stopped attacking the basket. etc. This strategy obviously didn't work as Ashland had trouble making the foul shots. Live and learn Coach Biggs. This is not a team who has the talent overall to ever back down. Good luck to all four teams tonite and heres hoping all the kids are injury free!!
