How good is Kevin Durant?

Featured Replies

He has a ways to go. But, as of now, I'm not willing to put a limit on how high Durant can go. He's got the tools.

Do you really think he could be better than LeBron or Kobe? Those two are going to both go down as top 5 IMO, and I think LeBron goes down as the best.

He's an above average player but has a lot of things he must do to be a dominant NBA player. IMO he must be stronger to be unstoppable, not Lebron stong but Kobe or DWade strong, this is why these guys finish so well around the basket.

I agree he has to get stonger, and with that he will be a better rebounder. He is REALLY athletic, and a good shooter, but stronger is the key. He also needs to learn how to pass better. He is averaging just right around 3 assists a game, and to be a GREAT player you need to get your teammates involved, and with that winning will come.

"I think" is the key there. I don't know how good Durant will end up being. All I know is that he's 6'9" and can play like a guard. His offensive skills are very impressive for a guy in his second year, which is the equivalent of his junior year in college.

I'd like to see more before I decide just how good he can be, so I'm not ready to place limitations on him.

I agree with you there, he has a great skill set for this point in his career. Here is a good question for you: Is he just the best player on a poor team and that is what inflates his statistics? And would he put up similair numbers-maybe not as high of a scoring average-on a good or elite team?

IMO after two guys named Bryant and James, Brandon Roy, Danny Granger and Durant are jockying for position to be the third best swingman in the NBA. I am very interested to watch these three players and their development of the next three to four years when they begin to enter the physical primes of their careers.

His efficiency is what impresses me...his shooting percentages are outstanding. I think playing on a bad team makes that even more impressive. If he was shooting 40%, averaging big points on 30+ shots per game, I might look at it differently.
