Let's use this thread to discuss the 12th Region, Teams, Players to watch, Schedules, Sr college commits and the season. Boyle County Burgin Casey County Danville East Jessamine Garrard County Lincoln County McCreary County Mercer County Monticello Pulaski County Rockcastle County Somerset Southwestern Wayne County West Jessamine Edited February 17, 2009 by STRIKE3
Knuckle Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 Should be a very good Region this year. West Jessamine and Danville both return alot from good teams last season. Rockcastle Co. will also be tough to beat with one of the best pitchers in the State on the mound, Tannar Perkins. I believe he has signed with Western.
BB_Dad&Coach Posted February 17, 2009 Posted February 17, 2009 I agree that the region is wide open this year. West is the team to beat, they are the champs until someone else knocks them off. I think that Boyle will surprise some people. They are not getting much pre-season respect, but they return some good players.... Cody Morris, Ben Carter, Garrick Whittle. Some of the younger players are ready to step up. The defense will be good and there are some real hitters on this team. Whittle and Carter can be two of the best pitchers in the region, both are throwing in the 86-87mph range this spring, and should keep getting stronger. Catching is going to be the biggest question mark for this team, but don't count them out. Whittle has signed with Morehead State, Morris and Carter are getting a lot of looks from colleges as well, both should be playing next year.
Chosen_One Posted February 18, 2009 Posted February 18, 2009 Garrard along with Boyle should be teams that suprise a few people. Garrard returns 8 starters that lost to Danville 4-2 in district. Should be a very fun region.

Knuckle Posted February 19, 2009 Posted February 19, 2009 What about Somerset? They always seem to have good teams.
letitbe Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 What scrimmage games for the 12? Who is playing and where and when are they playing?
Breds_12 Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 Pulaski Co. should have a good team this year, shouldint they?
Chosen_One Posted February 21, 2009 Posted February 21, 2009 I think this region is going to be a VERY competitive region this year. Should be fun to watch!
Knuckle Posted February 24, 2009 Posted February 24, 2009 What scrimmage games for the 12? Who is playing and where and when are they playing? I think Danville has a scrimmage with Russell Co. on the 21 of March.
ADopted ADmiral Posted February 25, 2009 Posted February 25, 2009 I have to go with my young Ads... Last season they finised 25 and 12...with only two seniors, one who only pitched... They started a 8th grader and a freshman...the rest were sophomores and Juniors... I believe this team still has only four seniors...One being a DH...Who can knock the cover off of the ball...And another that might get some action as a pinch runner... This team should be very dangerous...
Knuckle Posted February 28, 2009 Posted February 28, 2009 Three from the 12th on the Pre-Season All-State Team. Tanner Perkins- Rockcastle Co., Jeff Embree- Danville, and Arron Watts- McCreary Central.
BB_Dad&Coach Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Based on the Coaches Pre-season poll, the 12 region pre-season would rank like this (state ranking in parenthesis): 1. West Jessamine (22) 2. Boyle County (29) 3. Rockcastle County (44) 4. Mercer County (48) 5. Somerset (54) 6. Danville (59) 7. East Jessamine (67)
ACHS Baseball Posted March 5, 2009 Posted March 5, 2009 Danville and West Jessamine have to be the favirotes to win the 12th this year.
