Not bringing back Chris is going to hurt SL more than people will know. He is a excellent OC and not being there is going to hurt SL.

 

I was under the impression that even though he was the OC last year, the Head Coach still called the plays. If so, I don't know that it'll be that big of a loss other than they are running a different style of offense.

From what I gather Hayes called all the plays last year and the head coach didn't call any of the plays for South Laurel last year. I believe he coached a Defensive position as well as being the head coach, but then again I could be wrong.

Hays did call all the plays last year. The new head coach, Welch, was the defensive coordinator. I am not sure who is coaching the offense/defense this year. I do expect you will see MUCH more running this season than South Laurel has done in several years. I think they have a pretty solid O line, so the change could be a good thing for the Cardinals. I am interested to see how they do this year. They did lose a lot from last year's team besides record setting QB Ricky Bowling.
