Good effort by Boyle County, but it seemed like when Mercer got a shot off it went in. I don't have final stats, but Jordan Aumiller had a good game for Boyle and Jordan Walker provided a much needed jolt of energy off the bench, but my hats off to Mercer. Their whole team played a good if not great game and I was impressed by how well they moved and shot the ball.

 

I will say that I was disappointed in the officiating and I would have loved to have heard what Steve said to the ref to get thrown out of the game in the 3rd. I'd also love to know what Corey Jones said to pick up a technical as well.

 

Even though we lost, I think it was one of our better played games in some aspects, but we need a total team effort to win and we got help from a much used bench, but it wasn't enough to overcome the good shooting effort from Mercer. I also thought Rees MacShara played his best game of the year.

I talked to his dad and he told me that Cory had only clapped his hands at himself and did not say anything to the ref. He felt that they were still uptight about the T on the coach. He also said that there were several instances later where kids were whistled for turnovers or fouls that clapped their hands together or slapped the floor that were ignored. High school refs as a whole are not very good, some are very good but most are not.

I talked to Coach Adams and he told me what he said, and I couldn't agree with him more and I thought it was funny. He said the ref that gave him the 2nd tech is someone he has known for quite some time and he thought he could vent to that ref and get away with it. He was blown away that he got a 2nd tech for it.
