Garrard County 60 Danville 56

Featured Replies

Any Details on this one as the Lions improve to 10-3 on the year, and Danville drops to 2-5.

I didn't make it over (late arrival from Memphis!), but Coach DeForest seemed disappointed in Garrard based on the Advocate story. Said that Danville put full-court pressure on Garrard in the second half and the Lions didn't handle it too well. Oh well, a district win is a district win. Garrard was led by Justin Ray with 22 points.

Garrard is off to a great start. The Lions have the upperhand in the district race now.

I agree that Garrard does have an early upper hand, but there is a long way to go. In my opinion there are two big 45th district hurdles the Lions have to clear this season:

1. They still have to prove they can beat Lincoln County; the Patriots have beat Garrard seven consecutive times.

2. They have to prove they can beat Boyle County when it matters; the Rebels have knocked Garrard out of the postseason twice in the last three years and have won nine of the last ten meetings. Also, the district tournament will be at Boyle this year.

If Garrard can get past those two stumbling blocks, then this team can be special. We'll have to see how it goes...

It is still early SSF but I have to agree the Lions are playing the best b-ball in the 45th right know.

I knew Garrard was going to better this season. The 45th is going to be interesting. However, I think it is too early to say anyone has the upperhand. Danville beat LC, but it was in a holiday tournament. The two play again tonight, this time it counts. The first meeting did not count as a district game between Danville and LC.

The 12th region, in general is going to be wild. Garrard beat Danville, and lost to West Jess. The same West Jess. that LC blew out of the gym a couple weeks ago. ???

Of course anyone can make excuses, so don't read much into what I'm saying, but Garrard blew a 9-point lead at West Jessamine that night. But realistically, West was the better team that evening.

I agree with you, LCPats, the 45th is wide open. Garrard is off to a great start, Lincoln might be the best team, Danville can beat anyone...and Boyle hosts the tournament. Any of the four might win it!
