North Laurel beats South Laurel for the first time since December, 1999.

Nice win for North. Seems like South is starting to struggle a little.

North showed a lot of moxie in the 2nd half. South led by 10 at the half and hit 7/14 from the 3 point line in the first half. North came out in a much more agressive man to man defense and really caught South off guard. North also was exceptional down the stretch from the free throw line.

 

South really looked to miss Wombles and Sizemore from last year and the leadership they brought to the floor. Dean played a solid game for the Cardinals, she is a real fireball and I love how hard she plays. I thought that Jackson and Bargo for North really stepped up as leaders down the stretch.

 

A very exciting game with several ties and lead changes in the 2nd half. Big win for Coach Bowling and his lady Jaguars.

South misses Womble's athleticism and Sizemore's steading hand. Sizemore's importance to this team was vastly underestimated.

Agreed 110%. And Wombles could do it all. I think Wombles was mistakenly overlooked by larger colleges. And both these kids were top notch kids as well as players.

Actually, the last time I can find that North beat South, was February 2000 by a score of 63-41 in the 48th district tournament when Rachel Gaynor was the Lady Jags coach.

Wombles and Neace were both overlooked. Cumberland is gratefull. They are both lighting it up this year.
