From the looks of the pictures, I think the boys would have enjoyed it. It's a shame that the "memo" didn't get into the right persons hands or desk organizer. Or did it? Beechwood had no problem getting it.

Look at the smattering of fans in the stands and then look at the concourse where people are just sucking down alcohol as fast as they can because the horrible season is coming to an end and last call is coming.

The Beechwood team was introduced at 20 minutes before game start, therefore the sparsely filled seats. I was surprised by the large bengal fan turnout for this game which you can see was very good from a later photo snapped during the game:

 

In our phone calls to the Bengals, we were told you had to be the Enquirer team or coach of the week to be honored.

I do hope that the reason why Highlands was not represented at the Bengals game had something to do with the Bengals organization not communicating their plan to recognize the Highlands football team to Highlands High School, or else I think it looks bad for Highlands that no one showed up (especially since Beechwood was very well-represented).

 

Maybe I'm way off on this, but it seems like a big deal to me when an NFL team (even the Bengals) invites you over to publically recognize your gridiron accomplishments before the start of the season's last home game. I wonder how many high school football teams were honored by the Bengals this past season? I'm guessing only two (HHS and BHS).
