sportanalyst$
The Flyers lose to the defending overall New York State champions in the Stop-DWI Classic in Binghamton,NY. Jamesville is ranked among the top teams in the tri state area. Good showing for the Flyers and representing KY basketball. FC will play Simon Gratz out of PA tomorrow. Your Daddy
Jamesville-Dewitt is currently ranked #1 in Class A in New York, and have a 26 game winning streak. They have Brandon Triche, a Syracuse signee, who had 22 against the Flyers. FC played poorly for 3 quarters, and then came alive and cut the lead to 4 before falling to Dewiit. Vance Hall had 21, Barrett Meyer 16, Deron Hicks 15, and Andy Donovan chipped in 12 points and 10 boards.
FANOFTHE11th
No question this NY team would be ranked in the top two in KY. Syracuse commit Brandon Trishe has no weaknesses. I would be willing to say that there is not a guard in KY that has the complete package that this kid brings to the hardwood. As a team they had size, length and athleticism. FC was down 17 at the half and down as much as 22 in the 3rd quarter. FC did not shoot well first half but out played Jamesville-DeWitt in the final two periods only to lose by six. Franklin County has yet to put together a complete 4 quarters of basketball.
doomer
The game was a 4-pt game for most of the last 2 to 3 minutes, and could have gone either way. Franklin County got a real tough break with about a minute and 1/2 to go. FC had forced a turnover when a Janesville player dribbled off of his leg, but the ref. anticipated a foul, when in fact the Franklin County player was not within three feet of the Janesville player. Instead of the ball and a chance to cut to two or one, Janesville hit both free throws to keep the lead at six. Janesville also hit two free throws in the final seconds to make the final margin of six. Even after a tough 1st half, Franklin County almost took this game away. It would nice to see 4 quarters like the last one.
doomer
BTW, the kid going to Syracuse is the real deal. He is 6-4 and built like an NFL wide receiver. He can shoot, dribble, pass, probably keep the books for the arena if he wanted. When he was stopped, he created opportunities for his teammates. I couldn't help but be impressed by him. sportanalyst$
Hymes for DeWitt was also a solid guard and had 29 points. Hymes is being recruited by many mid-majors. He and Triche would make up the top backcourt in the state of Kentucky, no questions asked.
oldonetechnique
How did the Flyers fair in NY other than this game? Sounds like the trip was productive.

In a different post...beat Simon-Gratz from Philly today by 19. Franklin County broke out their full-court pressure in the 2nd half last night and the entire game today. Gave both opponents a lot of trouble.
