Boyle County goes to 2-0 in and Mercer County drops to 1-6. Leading scorers for Boyle County were Michael Arnett with 20 points and Kyle Rice with 10. Isaiah Burris and Elijah Mayes led Mercer with 12 points apiece. Great group of freshmen for both teams and I look forward to many more battles between these two teams for the next 4 years.

How many of trhe Boyle Frosh kids play JV?

Before the football players came there were 4 freshmen on jv, now there are 3. Kyle Rice and Michael Arnett get a nice amount of minutes with the jv team and do quite well for the jv also.

I thought that BC had some solid Frosh who got JV time. Good for them.

I was corrected, Kyle and Michael are the only 2 freshmen playing jv ball.

 

IMO, we have at least 2 other freshmen that could help out the jv team, but the jv team is doing great without them, and 1 of the freshmen is intimidated by the older jv players a little too much.

Yikes! Mercer 1-6? I haven't seen these guys play but does their record accurately reflect their talent level?

No it doesn't. Ever since the 6th grade when this group of boys started playing one another, Mercer was always the 3rd best team in the conference after Boyle and Lincoln. I have seen these boys play better, but I think they aren't adjusting to the high school style of coaching, maybe. They are better than their record and they have lost to teams that they normally or should beat. They always bring their "A" game against us and they gave us a great test last night. They will continue to get better and if they can get their confidence and swagger back, they should be fine. I will say that they have been historically inconsistent throughout the seasons, but like I said, they always bring their "A" game against us. They should be fine.

Good win young Rebels! Probably the next group that can contend for the 12th region.

The expectations for this group are high, but they are the same expectations for every group of boys that puts on a Boyle County uniform.

 

Believe, rebel man, believe. You should jump back on the ship before the varsity gets back from this tournament. The varsity has a great chance to be 3-1 in the tourney and they are getting the ship turned in the right direction to make their push in January.

 

Believe, you must believe. Not to mention the jv has only lost 1 game I believe. There is a lot of promise for the present and the future currently at BCHS.
