Final from Lancaster.

Garrard didn't play as well as they could last night, but still got the win. Defensively it seemed like Burgin got several easy baskets. Also, Garrard never seemed to get in an offensive rhythm. It was very much up-and-down, get the ball and shoot. That's not really Coach DeForest's style. So they've got something to work on.

The score is a bit deceiving, too, as the Burgin jayvees put forth a late rally to close the margin. It was a 20+ point ballgame most of the night. The Lions were lead in scoring by Tyler Woods who had 25 points (7 three-pointers).

Lions get back into action on Saturday night against Woodford County. They play the third game of a day-long quadruple-header.

2:00 - East Jessamine vs. Marion County (boys)

4:00 - Pulaski County vs. Louisville Trinity (boys)

6:00 - Garrard County vs. Woodford County (boys)

8:00 - Garrard County vs. Grant County (girls)

True, Garrard never got in a flow. Their defensive rebounding is what hurt them in the first and second quarters. Burgin is really long and can rebound well. Garrard just executed well on backdoor cuts and finishing around the rim. Not a very good game by Garrard at all. Foul trouble by Preston and Hensley didn't help in the first half either.

I agree with most everything except the bolded part. I think Garrard played a pretty decent game; they just have some things to work on. But it's December...
