He asked the Ref if he could get a "T" based on what he was thinking, the Ref said of course not, Terry then said, " I think you stink!"

 

 

 

 

 

I had heard the first one was for slapping the backboard while trying to block a shot, the second one was for slapping the hands of a Bath County player that was holding his jersey. Remember, I do not know this to be true, just what was passed on down the rumor mill.

 

We have some good refs and some bad refs in our region. Only 2 or 3 times in 30 plus years of watching High School Basketball would I dare claim the officials cost a team or hosed a team. Even when the officiating is bad a team must find a way to play through it. The outcome is ultimately decided by the players and coaches.

 

I just wish that the Officials would quit anticipating and just call the game as it happens on the court. I watched a middle school game last night and the refs anticipated and blew the whistles and no contact was made by either player. I personally think that over all we have pretty good officials in the

16th Region, having said that there may be a few that should have retired 20 years ago.

 

It is hard to predict the outcome of this one, the Hill by 7. Terry not playing will hurt them but Gambill is due a breakout game. Gambill is one of the best at taking the ball to the basket and creating his own shot, he has plenty of moves. The pre-season game at Russell and the Bath County, Gambill had great moves but the ball just didnt drop...he is due a breakout game. Gregg, Malloy, Kennedy and Bush will be fine in this game.
