Adia Mathies, one of the state's front-runners for Miss Basketball, has decided to play her college basketball at Kentucky next season.

Mathies, a 5-foot-9 swing player from Iroquois High School in Louisville who is listed among the nation's top 65 players by ESPN's Hoopgurlz, decided this week to play for UK, her mother Angela Mathies confirmed Wednesday night. Adia Mathies (pronounced ODD-e-uh MATH-is) was not available for comment.

Jim Underwood, director of the Blue Chip All-Stars recruiting service for whom Mathies plays in the summer, backed up ESPN's claim.....

Congrats! Love when our top players choose to continue their basketball careers in their home state.

I have watched her play a few times. She is fun to watch. She goes 100mph for 32 minutes. Good catch for the wildcats. Congrats. Does anyone know if her twin sister is going to play anywhere?
