I've seen Nick play. He is a very good athlete and has had some success this past summer by winning a Musselman-Dunne event. T-24th at State is very respectable. Nick has improved a lot since his baseball days.

 

I haven't seen Ben play so can't comment on his game.

Congratulations to two local young men; Michael Petering, Campbell County & Timothy Cooper, Pendleton County, for their first round of 79. They might have missed it by one but they done a great job representing their school & team. :thumb:

Ben Johnston had an upsetting couple round this weekend. In my opinion, he's the best golfer in the state. I believe if he had another year of eligibility, he would win state next year by 4 or 5 strokes. Supposedly he's getting a full ride to Notre Dame to continue striking the balls. :sssh:

 

Travis Thompson is the obvious best player in the state. An individual title in 2007 and a playoff loss in 2008 cannot be argued with. Oh yeah one more thing, he's got another year left, that's just scary good.
