NCC wins the Match 2-1 , 17-25 , 25-19 , 25-21 . A first class win for the Breds against a great team . It made the party afterwards honoring Jenny Mertle's 30 years of coaching all that better .:dancingpa

Congrats to Coach Mertle on career win # 683. You could tell that her team really wanted to deliver a win against a very solid St Henry team.

Tremendous match! A good lesson in determination...way to go NCC!

First time that Ive seen the impetus in a match depend on a piece of ATR hanging from the ceiling .

It was definitely intense.

A big point I heard

Yes NCC made the point to 22 I believe . The refs stopped the game to make sure that the ball hit the ceiling and not the beam . If it had not hit the ATR hanging from the ceiling therefore part of the ceiling It would have hit the back wall and St Henry would have won the point and the serve .

It was great...my daughter actually was the one that retrieved that ball from the back and hit it .....

Never stop playing until the whistle blows

And play each point like its the last.

It was definitely intense.

Kudos to St. Henry coach and team for staying on their bench during the after game celebrations and subsequent honoring of Coach Mertle. Very classy move, as I'm sure they would have rather gone to their locker room after such a tough loss. Class never goes out of style, and it definetly showed last night as many people noiced this.

It was noticed by the NCC fans. Good move just as the support that Coach Mertle and NCC Team showed to SHDHS and NDA with their support of their fund raiser for Breast Cancer....lots of good things going on 'off' the court.
