Is this their first season of varsity football? Can anyone tell me about this program and school? Don't know much aboout them. Is this a new school system? Do they have pee-wee and middle school football? Thanks.

Not sure about the feeder system, but WV is far from a new school system. They might be the only original Boone County school system to escape consolidation. Walton-Verona has a pretty good basketball history, but they're the new kid on the block as far as football goes. The area appears to be growing at a rapid rate, and when we were down at the sports complex last year for a cross country event, one of the locals told me that they had plans, and space, for a new school in the near future.

Walton has their own middle school. And they started a middle school program a couple years back. This is their first year for varsity. As for pee wee they may have some kids that play Boone County pee wee, but nothing like the bigger schools in Boone County.(Ryle, Boone co.) They are just a new program trying to get started, I think eventually they will get their kids starting at a younger age.

Walton-Verona started middle school football 2 years ago. They then added a 9-10 (JV)team last year that played in a conference with Ludlow, Bellevue, Dayton, Bracken, and Brossart. Last year they also started a pee wee program that play every Sunday versus other schools (1st-2nd grade team, 3rd-4th grade team, and 5th-6th grade team).

Walton-Verona participates in a youth league with Grant Co, Gallatin Co, Owen Co, and Pendleton Co. This is their 2nd year in the league that has 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6 grade teams.

I was talking to a coach on the middle school team tonight regarding the youth programs. He said they need to have a few years going so that the kids playing in the lower grades can field a team of Freshman and JV on their own w/o taking from the younger aged kids to make a roster. I agree. They had about 20 players on the field tonight for a Middle School game against Grant County.

Not sure what your referring too. Making a roster for which team?

Does Walton Verona have kids on their youth teams who do not attend Walton Verona schools? I saw a flyer for sign ups for the WV youth team and it stated that you do not have to attend school at Walton Verona to play.
