Fort Campbell 26 Clarksville 3

 

Fort Campbell scrimmaged both Kenwood, TN for a half and Clarksville, TN for a half during the Clarksville Jamboree and dominated both teams. Both Clarksville and Kenwood are in Class 4A in Tennessee. Clarksville was 9-1 last year and Kenwood was 8-2.

 

Fort Campbell looked very impressive on both sides of the ball against both teams. I believe they had a total of 4 rushing TDs, 3 passing TDs, and one defensive TD. Clarksville had some success running the ball, but turned the ball over 3 or 4 times and FCs defense stopped Clarksville inside the 5 yard line, allowing a FG for the only points given up against either team.

Are the 2008 Falcons ahead of the 2007 Falcons at this point in the year?

I would say yes, but with the caveat that their first two games against Mayfield and Warren East will really tell the tale. I think one of the main questions coming into this year was the new QB, but he made a couple of great throws tonight and had 0 turnovers and he looked good last week as well. The running game is better this year, even with the loss of two RBs to graduation and the defensive has picked up where they left off last year.

Clarksville is supposed to be pretty solid...They're expected to contend for Rgn 6, 4a this year...Most people feel they'll finish 2nd behind Beech..It's an 8 team region.. Kenwood is in the same region and expected to finish somewhere in the middle of the pack, 4th or 5th...

This is true. Kenwood lost a lot to graduation including their QB, so they are probably not a playoff team this year, but Clarksville is a good 4A team in Tennessee. Clarksville also is very big compared to Fort Campbell and quite honestly I was surprised by how well Fort Campbell played them. I expected them to beat Kenwood, but not as bad, and wasn’t sure if they would beat Clarksville coming into this scrimmage. I have to keep telling myself that these are only scrimmages, and next week we will truly see, but I have to admit, Fort Campbell looks darn good.
