August 22 at Newport. Any thoughts on this one?

Conner should be a good test for Newport.

Conner wins 33-7, looked much more efficient defensively. Conner's defense must stop giving up so many third down conversions! All in all the new offense is moving the ball much better, and already doubled their average points per game in consecutive weeks!

Conner looked very impressive on both sides of the ball. Their defense was outstanding and big and fast. Newport's offensive line was not together - they were missing blocking assignments and not playing as a unit. Newport's quarterback did prove one thing last night - that was that he can run the ball when necessary. Newport's defense wasn't as impressive as they have been in the past years. The safety was their strength once again. Newport's corners were not impressive - they just couldn't cover Conner's receivers at all. Hopefully Newport learned a lot from this scrimmage and can capitalize from it. Good luck this season to both teams.

I would say Newport played like they practice last week, it was a bad week at practice and they played a bad game. Im not taken any thing from Conner they have a big offence line and they pushed Newport around all night opening holes for there backs to run up and down the field. Conner defence held back the runing game of Newport. Newport has a tough qb he ran hard when he had to, I look for the Cats to have learned a lot from this game and pull together.

Conner looked very strong. Their offense is way more mature now that they have a lot of returning starters with some experience. The defense also looked great. I think they had 4 or 5 sacks. Best of luck cougars. Look forward to a great season.
