Indiana wins the late boys game 83-82.

INDIANAPOLIS — Kentucky's All-Stars were barely as big as a basketball the last time a girls team from the Bluegrass State had topped the Hoosiers in the state of Indiana.

It hadn't happened since 1992 when the All-Stars were barely toddlers.

“We wanted to make history again,” Miss Basketball Tia Gibbs said.

They did, using their superior quickness to down Indiana 76-59 Friday night at Conseco Fieldhouse. The series moves to Louisville Gardens on Sunday afternoon.

Way to go Kentucky!! :flame:

A WIN over Indiana in anything is always good. :ylsuper:

Superior speed and athleticism ruled last night. A great game to watch if you were for Bluegrass Girls! Maybe the best top to bottom team we've seen in some time. Great job by the selection committee. The coaching staff did great work with preparing the team and keeping players fresh. Indiana will have its work cut out trying to beat this team in the Gardens tomorrow. The ability to break down off the dribble and get layups or open shots causes problems for the Hoosier ladies!

Keep up the good work Kentucky gals!:dancingpa

Well done by the Ky girls! Make it a sweep Sunday. :thumb:

Looked like the girls played extremely well as a team, even when Indiana started a run. Looking forward to a sweep this Sunday at Louisville Gardens

I was thrilled to be part of the selection committee and it was a very difficult task only picking 10. Great group of athletes and all were polite, unselfish and hard working during tryouts. Congrats on the big win and let's go for the sweep !!
