Last night under the lights at CCHS Nick Houlehan led Boone Co. to a 4-2 win over the Camels. Nick went to 6-1 on the year with 5 innings of 5 hit baseball, highlighted by striking out the side to end the bottom of the 5th after the bases were loaded. He also hit a solo HR to put Boone up 3-2 early.

Tony Krohman continued his effective relief work, retiring 6 Camel batters in a row in the 6th and 7th for the save. Josh Whitaker drove in 2 as he continues to be clutch for the Rebels.

It's great to see Josh doing well. He sat behind Cory Farris for the last couple of seasons. With First Base opening up, he has taken full advantage of that. Could not happen to a better kid with super parents.

I would have thought Houlehan would have had about 15 decisions by now. He will be lucky to lift his arm by district time.

besides the error in the first inning Boone played solid defense

How did Farris do?

Glad to hear Josh is doing well.

Super kid.

On the KHSAA scoreboard it has Boone with only 6 wins, So Nick is the only pitcher on the squad who has earned a victory this year?

Boone has 12 wins, I believe.
