Madeleine Albright Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 With so many coaching changes going on in both Boys and Girls, how many schools in the 16th Region are also searching for new Athletic Directors?
Madeleine Albright Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 Where are we going with this one? I asked a question that was generalized for public view and discussion. rhfan, all you seem to do on here is plead your case, whatever case that may be and want to shift blame to everyone but yourself. I didn't start this thread to ruffle your chicken feathers about Rose Hill and Ashland. There are more schools to discuss besides those two. I have heard that there are a few schools in need of Athletic Directors starting next school year. Maybe you should apply at one of those schools and comprise a standard of excellence of sports leadership and academic acheivement. I am sure that any school would feel honored to have you on board. But to answer your question, this is where I am going with this...are any of the following schools in need of Athletic Directors: Elliott, East Carter, Bath County, Fairview, West Carter, Ashland, Raceland, Morgan Co., Boyd Co., Rowan Co., Lewis County, Greenup Co., Fleming Co., Russell, Rose Hill, Menifee Co.
rhfan Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I just figured that your next comment would be how bad the athletic director was at Rose Hill and how she did absolutely nothing, and then I figured you would some way or another find someone to fit that job perfect.

Such issues. Pretty sad when someone cant even open a general question forum thread. I do not know your situation and actually dont really care, but from looking outside in, I understood your point of taking care of you kids, but you just seem to be going on and on about it, which tells a lot of people it is beyond the kids. I dont even know who you are or who your kids are, and I wish all of you well, but as a fan of the 14th-16th region, I would like to read a forum without argument of Rose Hill.
Big Slick Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 Barring retirement from a couple, I can't see the following being open: East, West, Fleming, Fairview, Lewis, Russell, or Elliott. Those just a few off the top of my head. Morgan should be fine as long as Trusty doesn't leave for a coaching job. I actually haven't heard of any openings for AD other than Rose Hill. While we are on the subject of AD's, which schools AD's are fulltime AD's and which is it considered a part-time/ extra job?
Madeleine Albright Posted April 24, 2008 Author Posted April 24, 2008 I have heard that Boyd and another I will not mention at this time, but this is second hand. Just wondering.
Rickyp Posted April 24, 2008 Posted April 24, 2008 I have heard that Boyd and another I will not mention at this time, but this is second hand. Just wondering. If Mr. Bayes retires from Boyd that would be a huge loss. He is a quality man and does a fine job.
Madeleine Albright Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 I have heard that there may be 4 schools making changes next year due to various reasons. A good A.D. is vitale to any school's sports and morale. An A.D. could be full or part time, but it doesnt matter if the responsibilities are handled correctly. Other than scheduling, voting on regional and district issuses, what else is an A.D. required to do?

Are AD's in most school districts school administrators, coaches, teachers, or just anyone who is in favor with the local politics?

I personally know a lot of the AD's in my job, believe me, if they do their job the way it's supposed to be done they do a LOT more than just what you listed!!
Madeleine Albright Posted April 25, 2008 Author Posted April 25, 2008 I ended my post with a question mark, meaning I was asking a question. I don't know what all is entailed with being an A.D. that is why I posed the question of "what else is an A.D. required to do?".
