They opened with a doubleheader against Moody AL. Moody was terrible. X has not been tested, but they looked very strong in all aspects of the game.

They have the facilities, athletes, and pitchers to make a run at the regional title. Who will be their biggest competition in the district Male or Manual not to familiar with either? That's a very tough District.

I might suggest the Bluegrass Preps baseball preview. There are 5 teams in the 7th region that are ranked preseason in the top 25 in the state- St. X, Trinity, Eastern, Male, and Ballard. Manual and Seneca could make some noise as well. Manual will not surprise anyone this year and will challenge the top 5. Freshmen play a DH at Trinity, Thurman Hutchins Park. JV's host a DH against Trinity. Both start at 11am. Should be good tests for both teams.

It is a very tough district. Every year one of those 3 teams gets eliminated from the region in district play. Your goal in the regular season is to sweep those two opponents so you draw Collegiate and you're assured a regional berth. I would give the edge to Male over Manual because of Estes.

It is one of the toughest districts in the state. There is another very tough district in Lexington. I have talked to some people this year that saw Male and Manual last year and they would give the edge to Manual. Yes, playing Collegiate in the first round would be a great goal.
