If a game ends because of darkness, it does revert back to last completed inning.

Good win for Raiders over a usually hot hitting Lewis Co. bunch.

Congrats to East. Lewis led 1-0 through 4 innings. Shaw pitched real well for LC, East plated 4 runs in the 4th. Bolander pitched the 4th in relief, struck out 2, but errors led to 3 of the 6 runs, to that point.

 

Ginn and Calvert pitched the 5th and 6th for lewis. Errors will haunt you.... Lewis had 4 hits on the Seagraves kid. Witten had 2 RBI, Bolander 1 RBI. Lewis started 2 sophomores, Jared Pruitt at second and Cole Cooper in right, both played well. Pruitt had a solid hit in the 3rd. East's shortstop was very impressive in the field. I'm sorry but I can't remember his name? He went in the hole a couple of times and robbed a couple of hits. Seems to have a real glove and quick to the ball.

 

Lewis County plays Mason County Thursday at Mason, not for sure who is pitching for Lewis, we sure hope they got all the jitters and errors out of the way. Keep the E's down to a minimum, and they will be fine.

Bad weather and early season usually equals some errors for a lot of teams, I would bet a lot of teams haven't got the outside practice they would have liked to have had at this time.

Shaw pitched the first 4 innings and gave up 3 runs. Bolander pitched the 5th and gave up 3 runs. Nick Ginn pitched the 6th and the start of the 7th, not sure how many runs he gave up. Ryan Calvert came in to relieve Ginn and gave up runs that didnt count. Errors cost Lewis all last season and will probably be the downfall of this team again this year. I also think Coach Hughes will be better off playing the best players no matter what age or grade, keep playing the best.

I'd say three unearned runs was probably about right. This number is down from last year, I think the team probably averaged 5+ errors last year. Cole Cooper is a very good outfielder, but the team lacks a true 2nd and 3rd baseman. These positions will be played by a committee of players, all depending on who is pitching.

Second and third base was played by seniors last year. I think they will fill these positions very nicely. Jake Bolander will play 3rd when he is not pitching, they have a couple of fine infielders for second. Jared Pruitt, Blake Kilgore, Ryan Calvert. This is no different than a lot of teams. Someone usually gets moved around depending on who is pitching.
