March 7, 200818 yr Author The thing is, I'm not sure Cincy has anywhere near the talent that the Giants have up front...so I'm not sure they could pull it off. Obviously not right now...the question I was getting at is should they go that direction with the draft? Rather than trying to get a DT, as many have stated, myself included, should they go after the best available pass rusher...a guy like Vernon Gholston perhaps. And, start building toward a roster like the G-Men...

Justin Tuck is the key; I don't think Cincy has a guy with the combo of power and speed that he has. He is strong enough to play DT and quick enough to rush the passer from anywhere on the line. Vernon Gholston may be the type of guy who can do the Justin Tick role on another team. He seems to have the skill set, but it is rare.
March 7, 200818 yr Cincy actually tried it in Geathers's second year, when he weighed about 280; it didn't work; he was not able to get the QB; they told him to go back down to his 265 weight to increase his speed again. They have also done it with Fanene when he has been healthy and activated, which has been minimal; when he has played, he has flashed playmaking ability though.
