Calvary Christian advanced to the semi-finals of the 37th District tournament with a hard-fought 53-49 win over Silver Grove.

 

The Big Trains led most of the way - on top 18-12 after one, 23-18 at the half, and 39-36 after three periods.

 

The Cougars took the lead 48-47 at the 2:21 mark in the fourth and went on to win the game.

 

Matt Sharp's Trains finish the season at 5-22, but are not a 5-22 caliber team as the curtain falls on their season. A recent win over Pendleton County (recent winners over Newport and Harrison County), and the tough beat tonight to the Cougars demonstrate the progress the Trains have made throughout the season.

 

The prize behind door number two for the Cougars are the Campbell County Camels on Thursday night.

Nice work by both teams. Overall, they both ended up with good seasons. Congrats to Calvary on the win. Silver grove wasn't expected to do much this year, but they kept on fighting, nice work trains.
