I believe Rowan had 22 for the Mustangs. Gallatin will carry a 19-7 record into Thursday's season finale at Oldham Co.

Wow. This was Senior night right? A few of us from Walton were going to travel down to GC but we had Holy Cross tonight.

Good luck to GC at Oldham.

It's senior night at Gallatin County. After broadcasting games for these folks for the past couple of years, I felt it appropriate that I be here for their senior night. Some of these boys had played when my son Andrew did. It was my pleasure to be here for them.

Gallatin County came out patient on offence waiting for the right cut. The Wildcats held North Oldham scoreless for the first 3:20, but back to back three pointers by Alex Foley gave North Oldham a 6-3 lead early. Back to back buckets by Scott Brown gave Gallatin the lead again at the 2:05 mark, but a couple of buckets gave the Mustangs the lead after the first quarter, 12-11.

Both teams came out evenly matched in the second quarter with neither team able to take over. North Oldham jumped out to an 8 point lead with under two minutes to go. Gallatin County cut the lead to 5 with 44 seconds to go, but North Oldham went into the locker room with the lead 35-30.

North Oldham came out firing with 4 unanswered pushing the lead to 9 before Coach Jones called a timeout. It would be an 11 point lead before Gallatin County would go on an 8 point run of their own and a 13-1 run to cut it to 1 with 4:30 left in the quarter. Trent Maddox would tie the game with 2:50 to go and take the lead 15 seconds later. Jared Carlton hit a gimme with 2 seconds remaining to take a 52-50 lead going into the 4th quarter.

Gallatin County hit a couple of quick buckets off of turnovers to increase the lead to 4 with 5:51 to go. The Wildcat press kept North Oldham off balance but the Mustangs held with the Wildcats. It came down to the last possession of the game and Zac Jones missing a buzzer beater as North Oldham took the victory, 69-68.

I grudginly have to agree with this.

not knowing the situation in that region is this an upset?

Not necessarily an upset, just that Gallatin Co is a very good team and it is hard to win at their place.

Thank you.

Coaching wins Districts and regions more than we think guys, I will go with the struggling Colonels of Oldham to send the Mustangs packing in the first round!
