Franklin County 80 Madison Central 79 OT

Final in a barnburner.

Franklin Co has a good team...Congrats on the win. This dosn't suprise me at all.

Can't wait to hear details on this one!!!!!

When the fourth quarter started Madison Central lead 60-40. The Flyers whittled the lead down gradually and with a minute left the Indians led 6. Franklin came down pump faked a three, jumped into and Indian, fell down, a foul was called. All three free throw attemps were good. Eventually overtime came, and was close the whole period. With 4.2 seconds #22 for Franklin hit a running floater over Aaron Morris that banked and went straight through. The Indians tried to get a run out but failed and Franklin wins by 1. Aaron Morris shot 12-26 from the line while the Indians were ruffly 26-57. ( or around that area.) Tough loss on the road. Congrats to the Flyers. Tough played game and never gave up.

As you predicted it was a goofy game.

There were technicals, but the craziest thing is that Franklin Co came back and tied the game after being down 20 points with less than 7 minutes to go in the 4th sending the game to OT. FC won in OT.

MC went up early 20-4 in the first half. #22 for FC was called for his 3rd foul early in the 2nd period on a very questionable call. #22 was being held as he brought the ball up the sideline but was called for an offensive foul. FC's coach questioned the call and was called for a technical. #22 went to the bench for the remainder of the 1st half.

FC battled back to within about 12 points by half. #22 did not start the second half and did not enter the game until about 5 minutes to go in the 3rd. MC extended their lead. By the end of the 3rd quarter MC was up 60-40.

#22 for FC scored his first bucket in the fourth quarter on a steal and a layup at about the 6:30 mark in the 4th quarter to cut the lead to 18. The rest was a blur as #22 went on to score a total of 23 points in the 4th quarter and in OT hitting the game winning shot on a floater over Aaron Morris.

Statement win for the Flyers as they go up against a team that starts 4 seniors and a junior, compared to FC who has only juniors and sophomores on their team.

Many stepped up for FC including Ryan Conner who sent the game into OT on a put back, as well as Deron Hicks who contributed 20 points and played great defense for FC.

Jahearme, as you are a golfer it is also worth mentioning that #22 for FC is the older cousin of 6th grade golf prodigy Fred Allen Meyer from West Jessamine. I predict before it is all said and done that Fred Allen Meyer will be a factor in the KHSAA state golf tournament in the next six years.

Ive played with Fred Allen Meyer as i am a golfer for mchs myself.... I would have to agree.... if he can just think his way around the course better he will be a force to be reckoned with when he's is older. Much potential!
