Is Casey Co Lady Rebs really that strong and can this team go to state?

They have some very nice wins over teams that will be in contention for titles in their respective regions, so I wouldn't rule anything out. Good tests upcoming with Hart Co., LCA and Lincoln. Looks like they schedule with a region title in mind, and I give thumbs up to that. :thumb:

 

Also, I could swear I saw they had beaten Wayne Co., but I don't see it listed on the KHSAA site. Is there an unreported score? Or did I just imagine seeing that?

First game I seen Casey play was last night. They have an 8th grader that scored 20 points and had over 10 boards. I dont see anyone in the 12 region that could stop her for the whole game. Lincoln Co girls are really good this year but are young in key spots.

It was your imagination. They have not played this year and they dont play regular season, so if Wayne and Casey plays it will have to be in Region. The last time they met was last year in the first round of the region, with Wayne winning that one by a score of 73-49.

Yeah Casey County was a young team with no Seniors, with a 7th grader playing 24 plus mins a game.

Not to argue, but Wayne's 8th grade point guard played 28+ minutes in that game and Wayne also had no seniors. How many seniors do Casey have this year?

Wayne County is currently 12-6 overall, 7-1 in the region( lost to Pulaski Co first game of the season, dont have a answer for that one) and 5-0 in the district. Just now starting to play well. Should be a good regional tournament this year.

I have no idea why the two schools do not play in season. Wayne also does not play Garrard( although I know why that did not happen)as well as a few others. If you look at several of the 12th region teams or any team from any region , they do not always play each other.

True. But you would think Casey would be one of the ones that you would want to play. Both coaches have been around for awhile and know what each other will have the next few years....Of course that might be why they don't play.

I would not think that would be the reason. Wayne has a great middle school program , finished in the top 8 in the middle school state tournament, to go with the freshman point guard that made all region as a 8th grader last year. So I think Wayne is set to go for several years.

 

Casey likewise has a some great young players also, so I dont think Randy is ducking Pyles and I know Pyles dont duck anyone. Both have very hard schedules year in and year out.

Casey Co. is ranked no. 1 in the 12th Region in today's Cantrell Ratings.

Beat Hart County tonight 74-44. Casey County is 18-1 now.
