Family 4 Ever Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 I always enjoy this post so I thought I would get it going early. Who of the 6 champions, or the runner ups, have already ordered rings? When will they come in? what do they look like(pictures if you have em)? and How much and how are they being paid?

extackler Posted January 8, 2008 Posted January 8, 2008 Everything you ever wanted to know about Highlands' state rings. And then some..................
JimmyV Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Has a high school team in Ky bought a ring from being runner up. I know some colleges get rings for making it to a bowl game even if they don't win. I think it was in 2002 maybe, Georgetown College football made it to the championhsip game and didn't win, but they did get rings for making it there. I guess this would be the same in high school. If you look at College basketball, if a team wins a conference and then gets beat in the 1st or 2nd rd of the NCAA tourney, that team will get a conference ring. If a team in high school basketball wins the region and makes it to the sweet 16 but doesn't win, is it wrong for them to order a ring for winning their region. Have any schools done this? (I am sorry, I know this is a football forum, but is on the subject of rings) Just curious....
Family 4 Ever Posted January 9, 2008 Author Posted January 9, 2008 I am not sure, that is why I included runner ups in the question. I thought that last year Johnson Central had talked about getting rings, could be wrong.
JimmyV Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I am not sure, that is why I included runner ups in the question. I thought that last year Johnson Central had talked about getting rings, could be wrong. I think some would argue that getting a ring without winning the state championship would devalue the accomplishment of getting a ring. If a team is a runner-up or a semi-finalist, I don't see why they couldn't order a ring if they wanted. It is done on the next level. But at the same time I see the side that says the only way you should get a ring is for winning state and that is what makes it special, but if a team has a historic run and makes it to the finals and loses, I don't see a problem with them getting a ring that says runner up or even semi-finalist.. The NFL teams that lose the Super Bowl still get a ring for winning their respective conference. What are anyone else's thoughts?
