Under Armour HS All American Game

Featured Replies

The young man from PRP is to be congratulated and I hope he has a terrific game tomorrow and a great career at ND. However, based upon his play against Trinity, he would not have started for the Rocks on either side of the ball. He must be a work out phenom and turned heads at a summer camp. He was never a factor on any play the entire game. Maybe he was sick or something, but he was manhandled by Trinity's OL.

So that there is no confusion, there are TWO High School All-Star games on tomorrow. The one referenced by SomersetFootball, the UnderArmour Game, is new this year and will be carried by ESPN at 2:00 P.M. EST.

The better known game, and the one with the better players (including Brandon Newman from PRP), is the U.S. Army All-American Bowl, which will be on NBC at 1:00 P.M. EST.

I think I'll just watch the Army game and TIVO the other for later viewing.

Brandon has done well this week though against the nations best. His 1st day was fantastic, he just over-powered everyone. His second day was not as strong, but he said he was tired since he hadn't played organized ball in quite a while since PRP didn't go far in the playoffs. He has had several folks say he is more impressive than they expected. When someone asked Mike Farrell of rivals who was the most supprising players at the bowl his immediate response was Newman.

One thing about his play in KY this year is this. Because his team wasn't that strong, he was double teamed (sometimes triple) most of the year, and he played strong competiton. His stats were down a little this year I think. Now he is going against top competition one on one.

His stats:

Statistics G UT AT Tck TFL Sck

2005 (So.) 11 31 15 47 15 0

2006 (Jr.) 11 21 18 39 8 2

2007 (Sr.) 11 29 12 41 9 3

There is/was actually a 3rd game this year, occuring as I type this. It's the offense-defense All-American bowl.

As a ND fan, I am interested most in the Army AA game, which has 15 committed recruits, and one likely to announce during the game or on NSD.

Our home side bleachers are tore down.

If they werent, then I'd see what I could do :D

Do you have any pictures??? I haven't been to P-ville to see what it looks like...:cry::cry:
