Miller not scoring in the championship game and made all tournament team, im guessing a VERY solid floor game? or good in other games?

Glad you got home safe!

Did you mean to quote me?

No, I meant that I was glad you made it back from Hawaii and had a safe trip.

Scoring is not everything, Miller knows his role and plays it very well. He wants to win. Many people get caught up in that if you score alot you have played a good game. Myself I love to see a player that, as you stated ,players a good floor game in things like defense, assists, deflections, rebounds, glad to see others appreciate all the aspects of basketball.:thumb:

Right on Sunrise, it seems people put to much emphasis on scoring and not the other things such as controlling the tempo, making smart plays, and getting everyone involved.

I remember on awards night ,this coach would give trophies for rebounding, assists, point average, steals , fg%, ft% , defense and practice attendance. The trophy for assist was always the main one since it was twice the size of any of the rest. Also the fg and ft% trophies were larger than the one for pont average. The point average was the smallest of all awards. All you read about is who scored points. A lot of kids are stand shooters and couldn't create a shot on their own if they had to. There are players who can rebound ,shoot a good % from the field and ft's, can pass , play good defense, play good team ball, and really not concerned who scores points on their team and can create and make the rest of the team better, When a boy can do all these things , he's a player .

It is always interesting to find out who actually picks the teams. Sometimes it is the coaching staff, sometime it is a tournament director, sometimes it is a representative from the biggest monetary sponsor...

I don't know who was making decisions in this case...

I don't know that either, but it shows that they know basketball and can appreciate good players and not just scorers.

You make a good point here. I remember when I coached softball, teams were allotted a certain number of players on the all-tournament team based on their finish, and it was up to the head coach of that team to select which players made it.
