Lexington Catholic 53 Montgomery County 52

Gotta feel good even though you lost if you're Montgomery County. So far, they've lost to the current 2 and 3 teams in the state by a combined 2 points. Sounds like they could be a strong contender for a state title...? Maybe it's wide open this year.

Not really, Should have won both games

Against Dunbar Mc was up 15 + in the second hald and def. would have won if they could have hit half of their ft's.

Against Lex Cath they led most of the game (not by much) but just couldn't pull it out. I usually don't blame refs... but Catholic got a lot of calls go there way!

But Montgomery only lost by 1 to both teams, ranked top 5 in the state. I know it's hard to lose, even if you should have won the game, but at least they know they can hang in there with the best, and are possibly one of the best in the state.

Well it was their own tourney!

I bet both Dunbar and Lex. Cath. would both tell you they don't want to face Montgomery again later on, even though Catholic will have to in the regular season. Montgomery Co. players continue to get better it seems. Did anyone see big, 6'3" Jehlik dominate inside along with solid play from Colliver, 6'0".

You have to expect when you play at the opponents home court it will be hard but those two teams on a neutral court and Catholic may be in trouble. Novosel and Green have to do too much and depth will get them eventually in the Region. Coach Hans did a great job last night of treading water and buying time when he could but how often is that very limited bench going to be able to do that for him?

I've seen Montgomery play a handful of times this year and they continue to show me something new, different and exciting each time. :fire:

Agreed. However, I believe the girls all ready knew they could not only hang with the best but beat the best! They have made the elite eight three years in a row, barely losing to the eventual state champion last year.

I do think the close pressure situations at the end will benefit them in the long run, can't wait to see them play again.
