Any info on this game. There was nothing in the paper.

South 75 - Highlands 52

I could not find a box score or any info either

Highlands struggled mightily in this game. I think the activities from the previous night took there toll on The LadyBirds. #24 simply dominated the game for the LadyDragons. HHS JV won by about 20.

#24 I believe is Lauren Jones. Courier Journal shows she had 30 points,10 rebound, and 4 assists. I also see where South had 3 other people in double figures. Big win for them. Highlands is a good ball club.

South Oldham was coming off a home loss to North Bullitt and seemed to want the game more than Highlands. The Bluebirds state football title the night before no doubt was a factor as the girls were not reacting the way they normally would. Give South Oldham credit. They looked in midseason form; good enough to challenge for the 8th region title.

Lauren Jones does not get enough credit in the state rankings ,she is one of the top 25 players in the state Also a fine young lady..:thumb::thumb:

I have to agree with you..she is one of the best all round players in our region and works hard every play. It does not hurt that she is one of the best shooters around.

Jones is a very impressive player. Any college aspirations?

She committed to Austin Peay.

Awesome! Good luck to her and the LadyDragons.

FYI....She signed her National Letter of Intent back during the early signing period in November to play for Austin Peay State which is a member of the OVC along with EKU, Morehead St., and Murray St. here in KY.- shame to lose her out of state though. She is probably one of 15:dancingpa or so KY players that signed early - maybe not even that many.

I have heard from their fans that she could have gotten an full academic scholarship anywhere- she is in the top two or threee of her class, great role model, etc.

Nice to see a kid that is both a good student and athlete get rewarded for all their hard work. Don't see that all too often today. What a great success story for their team, coach, school, and for her.

Congrats Lauren! :dancingpa
