Morgan County plays jekyll and hyde this week. Played like misfits at Montgomery and then play much better in today's EKC Shootout at East Carter.

 

Cougars trailed by 5 28-23 at the half. Morgan executed in the halfcourt and got several layups and also shot the basketball well.

 

Blandon Clemons had 41 points for Bath County. Impressive night as he was the only offensive weapon Bath seemed to have. He's very strong with the ball and overall great performance.

 

Cougars get lift from Joel Nickell off the bench with 9. Morgan CO. seemed more offensive minded and got more shots on goal...kids were looking to shoot, create, and played with energy.

Bath County's starting center and foward were both injured on the first play of the game and did not play the rest of the night. Zak metz did not play. He is still out with a foot injury.

Bath is either really,really physical or your right on, judging from the stats posted. But I did not watch this game, maybe bad judgement on my part.

Zak Metz is an absolute animal and would have made a big difference in the game. Also hope Scott Trusty recovers from the nasty collision.

 

As far as the officiating, I have seen MUCH worse than yesterday. Yesterday's Bath County loss should probably be more directed and given excuses for Zak Metz not playing rather than blaming the officials on a 14 point loss.

 

I'm sure many in blue thought there were as many 'push off's' as there were people in red saying there were hand checks.

 

Bath when healthy should cruise in the 61st district. They have athletic players than in time will challenge the better teams in the 16th region. I can really see them making a late season run like they did last season. They were an exciting group last year and play very hard.

 

Blandon Clemons uses his body well, looks like he shoots a two-handed layup, but it is smooth and he can get to any spot on the floor he wants to. If Bath Co. can find another player to be a threat offensivley along with Clemons, a healthy Metz (who should average around 15-18 ppg when back) and the Trusty kid, then Bath will be much more formidable.

I agree when Metz returns at 100%, Trusty recovers from the swelling combined with the offensive abillity of Clemons. Bath Co. will be the team to beat in there District and move up in the polls within region.

Sounds like Piarist didn't help Bath County prepare much for this game

Didn't see the game, but I know I read a lot of posts throughout the years that say a game was the worst officiated game they have ever seen. I understand that it is true sometimes if your neutral and mostly bad when you are for a team that is playing. Bottom line it is not going to much better.

Get used to it!
