This was a key matchup with Conner recently knocking off Josh Sewell and the Louisville Trinity Shamrocks. Dixie is a senior laden team though, any details on this one would be great.

Dixie came out firing 3's to start the game. The Colonels led quickly 9-0 and maintained for the 11 point win. Mace did not have a real impressive night scoring only 7 points, but Pompilio and Lawson had a good game with 15 points each.

It seemed like Conner could not get into a rythum. Thomas was held to 8 points. I like Pugh's play, even though he was sat down for the last 4 minutes of the game. He led Conner with 12.

Both coaches will be on the show this weekend.

Mace added seven blocks to go with his seven points and rebounded well.

Carter did a good job of running the team and his defense seemed to bother the Conner guards. IMO the best player on the Dixie team appears to be Kendall.

who from Conner guarded Mace?

Boy, I hate to say this but Dixie did not impress me at all. I know some will say it's early but these guys have been hoopin all summer. I did not see any advancement in Mace's game. As big as he is, he should dominate inside but he's just not that strong. Quite a few times he had rebounds taken away from him. He's easily flustered into making bad decisions with passes. The big kid from Conner, #33 I think, has lots of potential. I don't think he started against Dixie the other night but he should have, the kid's a horse. Unfortunately, I just saw the same thing I saw from last year's Dixie team, nothing inside and poor shooting from perimeter. However I hope I'm dead wrong by mid-season.
