Metcalfe County 47 Trigg County 13

final

Wow! I expected a Metcalfe win.. but only by a few TD's.. Any details on this game?

It was 20-6 in the third quarter, so Metcalfe must have really poured it on towards the end.

Good call in the prediction thread... :thumb:

I guess I was the one that said running clock by the 3rd qrtr, so I stand rebuked.

From what I understand listening to the last quarter and the post game show, Trigg’s defense could not stop Metcalfe’s offense and Metcalft’s defense shut down Trigg’s running game. Trigg has not consistently played good against the run and their defense was not able to stop Metcalfe’s balanced attack. Metcalfe and Fort Campbell are very similar teams offensively and defensively and they each had very similar results against Trigg County. Trigg’s first score came on the first play of the game when they ran the kickoff back for a TD and their second late in the game when the outcome was pretty much decided and clean jersey’s were in for Metcalfe.

With Trigg’s QB, Bush returning next year I would expect more of a passing attack and pretty decent team as always.

Wow! Apparently, the Hornets are playing GREAT football at the right time. The win at Greensburg last week made a huge statement. Here's hoping that Metcalfe wins the state title!
