Big crowds expected this weekend??

Featured Replies

Just wondered what your thoughts were on what kind of crowd will show up at the respective third-round playoff games this weekend.

At Harrison County, we really don't know what to expect. Not sure what kind of followig Greenup County has. Not sure how many HC fans will show the day after Thanksgiving.

We had a pretty good following at Franklin County last weekend, but not sure about this Friday.

Tuesday is the last day for students this week, which could be a factor. I think that in a typical week, the build-up within the school building peaks on Friday and a lot of kids will attend. Without that this week, I'm not sure how many kids will come.

A lot of folks typically will have "two" Thanksgiving celebrations...one on Thursday, pack up and go to the in-laws for a Saturday Thanksgiving.

Just curious...what has been the case with those of you with more experience playing the week of Thanksgiving.

Typically, very big crowds.

I fully expect a big crowd at the Russell-Breathitt game. These two teams have an excellent rivalry and history to boot. The last three times they have met, Breathitt Co. has won the state championship. Look for the visitors side to be filled at Ivan McGlone Stadium!!:thumb:

hchs, how many people do your visitor side stands hold at Harrison County? How many rows are there and how far do they stretch on the visitor's sideline?

I would suspect those bleachers would hold 250 people or so...your typical metal visitor-side bleachers that may have 8-12 rows in height20 yards or so in width...all this is just guesstimation on my part.

The Graveyard at Flash Field should be packed with a sea of purple, hopefully the Eagles will bring a large crowd as well.

Thanks for the information.

I'm sure that they will be filled...and "then some" along the edges.

Harrison County's visitor section is very small and low to the ground, hard to see. I would expect Harrison and Greenup to have the smallest crowdd of the games in this area because Greenup County never brought a crowd with them to playoff games in Rockcastle.

There was a great following to Boyd County on Friday night. Cynthiana is a much shorter drive than Rockcastle County, anyhow.

There will be a tremendous amount of people at the game Friday night to support the Musketeers in the Regional Final.

I figured as much, Boyd County is a skip and hop away. How far is Cynthiana away from Greenup? It isn't that much further from Rock, I didn't think.
