Campbellsville 12 Lynn Camp 7 (1A)

Featured Replies

Per Riherd's. If this score is accurate, what a monumental turnaround from the regular season!

Lynn Camp scored 7 points in the last 10 quarters of football this year. They scored 54 points since Roskoph went down. They allowed 50 points in the last 3 games of the year. (Hazard/M'boro/C'ville), and allowed 2 kick returns for touchdowns in the last 2 games.

On a side note, Roskoph did play Defense all 4 quarters tonight and almost pulled in a pick. Was happy to see him get to compete one more time before graduation!!!

Bottom line is that their defense played very well at the season's close, but we could just not move the ball at all after Roskoph went down. (They did score 34 in the game he went down in.) Disapointing finish for a season that started so well. Back to square 1 and prep for next year.

The entire 3rd qtr was played between Campbellsville's 40 and 5 yard line with both teams just trading series over and over.

Good luck to the Eagles the rest of the way. You showed class tonight in victory. Thank You!!!:thumb:

Glad to share the district with you.

Good Luck against the Jackets!!!!

Hope you go far and look forward to trying again next year. Bring home a Region Title for District 6!!!!!

Eagle Nation, were you at the game? There were a lot of empty seats on the visitors side tonight.

Yes I was and what a beautiful facility. Great game by both sides. I was proud of my Eagles. What a turnaround from week #3. What about it Daddy, making the trip to Williamsburg?

P.S. The prayer at the end was just pure class.

Really thought the camp would pull this one out, guess now we will have to see whether or not Williamsburg can have the post season turn around against Campbellsville , that Campbellsville had against Lynn Camp.

Don't know yet. If not, I'll listen on the radio and be pulling for you, Eagle.

It was a good game. You could tell that the first team to make a mistake was going down! Hard fought.

Did Y'all notice Roskoph out there?

Thanks for the compliments on the facilities and for noticing the prayer. The kids do that after every game. Some teams like to join in and some don't. They invite one and all.

It's been a rough ending to the season, and, once again, thanks for being gracious winners. Don't get to see that much anymore around here. You have some quality student athletes and should be proud of them.

(The Eagle kids/cheeleaders seemed happy when it was over and you would have thought it was the state title they had just won. When was C'ville's last playoff win?)

Speaking of the facilities I've always loved it at the camp, if I owned that little pond opposite side of the bleachers I would stock it with fish and build my own bench over there, it would be nice to have a pay lake overlooking the field. I might go to some more LC games if I could fish during them.

Last play-off win was 99'. It will be interesting to see the stats. I will report when I hear them. Had to be pretty even.

This was a great defense game. Campbellsville made the stops when they had too. Lynn Camp played it seemed like the entire game on the Campbellsville side of the field. LC had the ball inside the 15 on 3 different drives and couldn't find a way to put it in the end zone, and LC also fumble a punt return on the 15 yard line. Campbellsville deserved this win with the way there defense stepped up. Tough loss for LC after starting 5 and 2 and ending 5 and 6. Of course all 4 losses came without Joe Roskopf in the backfield. I hate to make excuses, but I felt if LC had Roskopf LC would be playing the region finals this season. They were head and shoulders above the rest of district with Roskopf, and Joe went down it made this district very even. LC will need to have a good off season. They return a large number of players, including Jonah Mitchell, Wes Steele, and Sidney Wagner. If they have a good offseason this team can be a very good team. This district should be a lot better next season with as young as Cambellsville and Williamsburg are. Good luck to Campbellsville, I will be pulling for you, the rest of the playoffs.

:thumb:You are dead on with the last post, LC99!!!

To be honest I thought Lynn Camp was still the best team. With or without Joe. They were faster than everyone else which always gives you a chance. They could also defend. The inability to throw the football is what got them in the end. Jonah Mitchell, Steele, and Wagner are all very good players.
