Don't know. I made the mistake of staying home to watch the Cards implode against UConn. I think they said it was something like 41-20 at half. Fern Creek's new coach, Curtis Higgins, was a Male assistant under Redman for several years, so I'm sure he knows how to score points on the pressure defense.

To be fair I think Trinity showed it quite well the last three times we played Male, even if Higgins didn't know before.

Rock, to also be fair I believe the teams that Male played in their region were a little more powerful than the team the Rocks always played.

 

Male even traveled to Highlands the last three years for a practice game.

 

The Rocks played out of state teams but look at their region compared to Males.

Well good sir I bring this up because someone else brought up the Male defense and how to beat it. I said nothing about strength of schedule, I said nothing about our region or Male's region. Please pay attention to what was said.

Because I am not sure you caught the reference the first time I bolded it to make it easier. My point was that after Male's pressure defense smothered Trinity in 2000, Trinity discovered the way to beat it. My statement merely was meant to mean that if you watch 2001, 2002 and 2006 T-H (or H-T if that is your preference) the you can clearly see that to beat, it you do it with speed and an effective passing game.

 

My point was in reference to how to effectively score on Male's man-press pressure defense which was wholly relevant to this thread. I am sorry if my interjection was taken as a personal affront, please accept my most sincere and humble apologies to venturing into a non-Trinity thread.

PepRock, hold on, maybe its me. I misunderstood and its almost time for Bama/vols kickoff and I'm nervous. I'm sorry for the way I reacted. I need to reread before I hit the button.

FC killed themselves in the first quarter just like they did with Ryle. Hynes setout the first two series (I guess the penalty for last week's suspension?) and two fumbles and two quick TD's put them down quickly. Total of 4 fumbles and 2 interceptions and failure to stop the big run up the middle. Offensively, once Hynes entered, they moved the ball well and put up a lot of points, and had two TD catches dropped. Good game, starters still on the field at the end of the game, FC could not stop Male running game. They have been practicing a new defensive set for two weeks but I guess it won't come out until playoffs. Until they can stop the run like Ryle and Male, they will not advance. Offense is fine, defense has to make a few stops.
