I can see the bye week, I personally don't care for it, but I can see it. As for all the teams in the playoffs, were just playing what if anyway. I think it has some draw, but I like the old format also.

But, really if you look at it most of the teams are in the playoffs now. Like I said, only one 2A team is missing the playoffs this year, and only 9 1A teams are missing the playoffs out of 41 total teams. So, 32 teams out of 41 are going to the playoffs, that's 80% with 1A having the most teams.

The KHSAA couldn't resist tinkering with a great system, and they went way too far.

I agree. I just don't see them going back to four classes, ever. I may be surprised, but I do not see it happening.

Here are the current stats for making the playoffs:

1A.........32 out of 41............80%................9 missing the playoffs

2A.........32 out of 33............97%................1 missing the playoffs

3A.........32 out of 39............82%................7 missing the playoffs

4A.........32 out of 35............94%................3 missing the playoffs

5A.........32 out of 37............86%................5 missing the playoffs

6A.........32 out of 36............89%................4 missing the playoffs

Total....192 out of 221...........87%...............29 missing the playoffs

Looks like Option 1 is pulling away. I guess a lot of people like the playoffs the way they were in the 80's and 90's. I can live with that.
