I don't know anything about Kenwood. The late start by Clevenger combined with the limited practices due to the heat have hurt the Colonels. Despite the score of the North game I was pleasantly surprised with what I saw. They should get better as the season goes but at the same time they will take their lumps this year.

Happened to see Clevenger on T.V. on the "hot seat" portion of the sports. He says he is a players coach and yes the late start hurt them. He was very humble and said he does not know enough about Kenwood to comment, but he had enought things to fix with his own team to be too concerned with Kenwood. I predict he will make some great things happen at Henderson in due time.

Clevenger and Def. Coordinator Bobby Joe Lawson will be good next year and be dangerous the year after-

They definitely have a ton of young talent. If Clevenger had a running back this year that was 200 lbs then they would fine. Neither of the running backs have much weight and they still rushed for 250 yards last week.

Well, I think if the speed of Kenwood will eat us up. Sure, we have some fast guys, but I saw our defense last week bite on everything and they could not tackle. I think over the next few season we will improve more than almost any team in the state though. Starting late has a lot to do with it. But I think what I have been saying about having lots of senior starters who left two positions to fill and many returning starters leaving one position to fill, is a big problem. Our program has not been built to handle this many players the past decade.

Notes:

I was in shock when the offense was on the field and the coaches were working with our defense on the sidelines. That was something that I have not seen in years.

North will be #1 or 2 in Evansville this season.

I am an "89" graduate of Henderson Co. now living in Louisville, KY and I miss not being able to attend any games since leaving home. It seems however, since it is still the only high school in the County and how much Henderson has grown, there should be some stellar talent. I am amazed at how the program is not up there where say Male or Manuel is here in Louisville. With the size and support of the every growing school It seems they should be in the playoffs every year and knocking on the door of a state tittle. Any insight from anyone. Please respond.

Actually they are in the playoffs most years and have been knocking on the door of a state title. Since 2002 They have won 3 Regional titles and have played in 4 Regional title games.
