Hearsay
Got there too late to get a good personal view of it, but word in the stands was that Bardstown needs a lot of work. On the plus side, not many missed assignments, but also not a lot of energy, sustained blocking, or line push. Perhaps typical first scrimmage. This is true, The tigers do need a lot of work, but with the hard work they have been putting in up to this point, i think they did well. If they keep working as hard as they have been they will be even better than last year, perhaps better than in 2005. I disagree on the energy though, i think they had lots of energy and lots of intensity. The real test comes in two weeks.

I don't know about all that, I thought they looked pretty solid. Kelvin Scott looks very quick and explosive, although I wish he ran more inside. I thought the line looked pretty good at the point of attack. Scottsville had some really big, slow guys, and they got some movement. The defensive front was pretty good, but I think the secondary needs a whole lot of work.

In the secondary's defense, ACS' QB is a pretty nice ballplayer. Throws a real good-looking ball, and has pretty good wheels.

Against BArdstown, that was ACS's backup, who is a freshman. The kid you're thinking of, Corey Cooper, did not play in this scrimmage (he should be back next week). I do agree that Corey is an excellent player.

In the Defense of Bardstown O-Line they were subbing the younger guys the whole scrimmage. They needed to see what they bring to the table the Tigers need some more subs for the O-Line.:thumb:

I had never seen ACS until this past Friday, so I guess I saw the frosh. He looked pretty good to me, so Cooper must be pretty sharp.
