NE KY Pre-Season Top Ten

Featured Replies

Regardless of class size, what would be your Pre-Season Top 10 in NE Kentucky? How do you believe your Top 10 will compare to Ashland Daily Independent's Top 10 later in the season?

Post your predictions for your Top 10 teams' records for 2007.

Looks pretty good - thanks for starting the thread. But, I think you are a little optimistic regarding Russell’s and Ashland's records.

I think Russell will lose at least 1 game and maybe 2. Their district is smaller this year which has allowed them to add some tougher opponents to their schedule. Even Russell’s state championship team lost one game.

Ashland is young and has some proving to do – an 8-2 record is too bold for them at this point, IMO.

I think that Boyd Co. will be a surprise to people. I think they will end higher than 7th. I think that there is a good chance that they will win their district.

4. Boyd County (7-3)

5. Ashland (5-5)

9. Lawrence County (5-5)

10. Rowan County (3-7)

I agree with you that my prognostications for Ashland and Russell might seem a bit optimistic, but that's the fun of it all.

I believe that my predictions will be close unless a team unexpectedly surprises others with a string of victories such as Boyd County or Lawrence County in their district play and beyond. New offenses, attitudes, coaches, etc. seem to do that.

... that's the fun of it all ...

It is good fun :thumb:

Somebody has to have another pre-season Top 10 out there.

If JC is physical and runs the ball between the tackles very well they might be ahead of the Devils ... If not , "ain't no way you can beat the Devils".... Devils strength is the entire field ,athletic play - the old coach brings execution ...

1 Johnson Central

2 Russell

3 Mason Co

4 Boyd Co

5 Ashland

6 Lawrence Co

7 Raceland

8 Fleming Co

9 Greenup Co

10 East Carter
